The course covers topics such as the aging process, common mental health issues in older adults, and culturally sensitive counseling approaches for working with older adults. The course is typically taught live online and includes interactive components such as group discussions, case studies, etc. The course also provides students with an understanding of the physical, psychological, and social changes that occur in older age as well as the impact of aging on the individual and family. Students of the program will have a deeper understanding of the experiences and needs of older adults and be better equipped to provide inclusive and culturally responsive counseling services that address the specific needs of the older population.
