The course is typically taught live online and covers topics such as the theory and principles of EMDR, the 8-phase EMDR therapy protocol, and the use of EMDR in treating a variety of mental health conditions. This type, of course, is designed to be interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and engage with the instructor and other participants in real time. Students of the program will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to use EMDR in their own practice and will be able to work with clients to reduce symptoms of trauma, such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
